The salted Red Tilapia with green spicy sauce (Pla-Pao) is the bomb! Perfectly grilled with scales to prevent it from being overcooked and to preserve the taste of the fish. It is tender, moist and soft. Also great value at 140 baht for a small fish, 160 baht for a medium fish and 180 baht for a large.

Other highlights include: Spicy Soup with shrimp, galangal root and coconut milk (Tom Kha Gung) 100 baht small / 150 baht large, Spicy Soup with prawn and lemon grass (Tom Yum Kung) 100 baht small / 150 baht large and BBQ shrimps where you can pay by weight.

If you dig the schewein then Lert Los is also the place to be. They offer steamed pork, BBQ pork, curry pork in banana leaves and pork rib soup.

Mango and sticky rice is their specialty desert and is one of the best in town. Local large beers are only 70 baht or you can order a tasty passion fruit smoothie.

The owner and staff are really friendly and service is fast as this place gets busy with a good mix of locals and tourists. Sometimes you might have to wait in a queue due to its popularity but it is worth the wait.

Lert Los is a hidden gem that offers delicious cuisine, cheap prices and authentic Thai atmosphere.

Tip 1: Arrive around 6:00 p.m. as it is usually full by 7:00 p.m. and you might have to wait in line. Last orders are around 8:00 p.m. as it closes early around 9:00 p.m.
